This weekend is dedicated to keeping the heart open for the months ahead. It will include asana that caters to the heart center, as well as continued teachings on compassion and the buddhist metta bhavana practice. In the asana portions, I’ll share essential information about the anatomy of backbends, as well as insights into the benefits of backbending to both the physical body and the emotional body. Returning to the wisdom of the heart center is essential for humankind, and it’s most effective to approach this from both the physical and the non-physical entry points.
The schedule will be as follows:
SATURDAY NOV 9TH, 9-11:30AM
• the anatomy of safe and eventually deep backbending
• the physical, psychological, and emotional benefits of backbending
• backbending asana practice
SATURDAY NOV 9TH, 7-9PM
• quieting asana practice with emphasis on counter-balancing forward bends and restorative backbends
• yoga nidra
SUNDAY NOV 10TH, 9-11AM
• asana incorporating previous day’s teachings on backbending, and exploring other options as appropriate for the level of the class
SUNDAY NOV 10TH, 1-2:30PM
• Buddhist metta bhavana loving-kindness teaching, with guided metta meditation
(For those of you who have completed my Dream Tending Course, there is also a Dream Tending Circle gathering available this weekend on Sunday, Nov 10th, from 3-4:30pm. Please email me for more information about this.)

(Venmo is the preferred way, as it saves me the credit card processing fees.) There are still a few spaces available, so it’s perfectly safe to send your registration fee to me via Venmo. When this weekend has sold out, it will clearly indicate so here.
LOCATION & PARKING
Specific location details coming soon.
In Idyllwild, there are lots of cozy cabins available on AirBnB. I’ll be compiling a list of recommended ones soon, but for now, you can head over to AiRBnB and choose what appeals to you. I personally prefer the neighborhoods to the east of the 243, but there are also some sweet places to the west of the 243. My friend Meagan hosts these AirBnB properties. If any of them appeal to you, you’re sure to be well taken care of.
CARPOOLING & SHARING AIRBNBS
For those of you coming from Los Angeles, who might like to carpool or share an AirBnB, I’ve set up a private online network where you can post your questions and requests about these weekends. To join that network, please click this link. (This network is on a private platform called Mighty Networks, and is a little easier to navigate by computer than on your phone. If you already have a Mighty Networks account, instead of following the prompts to enter your first and last name, go to the upper right corner of the page and “sign in”.) Once you’ve joined the network, be sure to set your notifications up to be notified if someone in the group posts a question or responds to your post.
Idyllwild is known for its beautiful topography and hiking trails. Here is an overview of some of the hiking trail options.
